Newsletters June Newsletter Hello to members and friends, Welcome to our June’s newsletter, our brollies have been at the ready for most of the month so far, although the rain has been a welcome relief to the gardens where the ground was getting dry and parched making the plants thirsty. The closing date for our June social at the George is the 17th, a week prior to the meal on the 24th of June. Talking of the socials, we are finding that some members, prefer to opt out from having the meal and would rather just come to hear the speaker, whereas this is perfectly ok, the committee feels a small charge of £5 is warranted in order to contribute towards the cost of the speaker, which can sometimes be costly. We hope this is acceptable to our members. We would like to extend our thanks to Simon & Sally Gray for their recent open garden and cake event, despite the showery weather, it was well attended and admired by all.
